Batch Certificate
To download your batch certificate, simply visit www.elcometer.com/cert, select Elcometer 99 ASTM D3359 Adhesive Tape and enter the batch number as printed on the label on the tape core.
This certificate verifies that peel testing was conducted on 10 randomly selected rolls from the specified batch, following ASTM D3330 Method A with a 90-second dwell time as recommended for adhesion testing under ASTM D3359.
The results confirm that the batch’s average adhesive peel strength falls within the required range of 58 to 64 oz/in, meeting the standard specifications.
Please note that the data was obtained via the processes outlined in the certificate, and that future test results performed at other times and locations may differ due to changes in environmental and other conditions including temperature, humidity, aging and test equipment. The certificate shows that the peel strength conforms to the standard at the time of manufacture.
Using Elcometer 99 ASTM D3359 Adhesive Tape - Best Practice
As per Clause 8.4 of ASTM D3359-23, two full laps of tape should be removed and discarded prior to testing each day.
To maintain the tape’s shelf life, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area at a stable temperature of 20°C (68°F), away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
The tape may exhibit cosmetic imperfections such as mottling, fisheyes, or deformation of the inner core. These are purely aesthetic and do not impact the tape’s performance or adhesive strength in any way.
